TOP 10 REASONS TO STUDY ABROAD IN SINGAPORE

Students have to introspect before planning to study abroad in SINGAPORE. It is necessary to make awell-versed decision before you plan foranoverseas higher education. The country has emerged as a leading study abroad destination known for its top-quality education. Here are the top 10 reasons why you shouldchoose to study in the US:

1.Singaporean education system in one of the best
Graduates from Singaporean institutions are primed and ready to conquer the ever-evolving global economy. Various global reports recognise Singaporean institutions as seats of world-leading research and innovation. The 2015 INSEAD Global Innovation Index ranked it seventh, IMD’s 2014 World Competitiveness Rankings ranked it third and the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report for 2014-15 ranked it second in this regard. Universities of Singapore maintain parity with top universities from across the globe in many subject areas such as law, computer science, mechanical engineering, materials science, statistics, accounting and finance, communication and media studies, and pharmacy.

2.Cheaper than UK/ USA/ Australia
The best thing about studying in Singapore is its proximity to India which reduces the expanses incurred in this country as compared to major destinations like USA, UK, Canada or Australia. You can balance out your costs if you plan your expenses wisely (for e.g. use public transport which is quite extensive & affordable there.)

3.The Location
Most students who want to do a lot of traveling to different countries think of going to Europe, but Singapore is a great hub for traveling too. Singapore is in Southeast Asia, which is also home to Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia. You can easily travel by train, plane or boat and hop over to any of these surrounding countries.

4.A global business hub
The nation has been constantly acknowledged as a global business hub because of its open business policy, advanced infrastructure and political stability. With a formidable reputation as the easiest country to do business with (ranked no. 1 by the World Bank in 2016), it is no wonder that most multinational business giants have their presence in this country. This means that there are limitless career and networking possibilities after you complete your studies.

5.Big On Education
Singapore is quite often referred to as the “The Little Red Dot” because it’s usually covered by pin-drops on most digital maps. However, it should be called the “The Big Gold Star” for its strong academics. Many of Asia’s universities are considered superstars in global higher education rankings and Singapore is uniquely positioning itself for educational excellence. Singapore Management University is the country’s youngest university and has accomplished a lot in its short 16 years by obtaining both AACSB and EQUIS accreditation. It is now among the top five in world accounting rankings, too.

6.In Singapore, you get what you pay for
Though Singapore is comparatively expensive, tuition fees and living expenses are less compared to the USA and the UK. Tuition fees are affordable and the cost of living in Singapore is lower than many developed countries. People here enjoy access to great facilities that make life better. With great connectivity with the rest of Asia through one of the best airports in the region and cheap and efficient services like great public transportation, one enjoys an extremely high quality of life in Singapore, which is well worth the expense.

7.Safety First
Not allowing chewing gum keeps Singapore safe. It’s a stretch (pun intended), but here’s why. Besides avoiding premeditated gum-in-hair attacks, Singapore’s strictly enforced laws have a direct correlation to low crime rates. While sometimes it might seem that Singapore is uptight with its strict laws, the benefit is that it is the second safest city in the world behind Tokyo according to The Economist’s 2015 Safe Cities Index. Streets, trains and buses are exceptionally secure and allow travelers and international students alike a real sense of safety and the ability to relax and enjoy their environment.

8.Affordability
One of the most common misconceptions about Singapore is that it is outrageously expensive. Unless you are planning to buy a house or a car, you can actually live in the city very inexpensively. Don’t like cooking? Well, let someone else do the cooking for you at the local hawker stands or small local restaurants for under $5 a meal.

9.Public Transportation
Not only is the public transportation inexpensive, it is incredibly easy to use. The signs are written in English and all of the stops on the trains and buses are announced in English. You can get anywhere in the city on the trains and buses without worrying about getting lost because the friendly locals are always willing to help! The public transportation is extraordinarily clean, so you can take a seat and relax while zipping around the city.

10.Enough scholarship opportunities
Even though the country may seem a tad too expensive to Indian students, the good news is that there are many scholarships on offer to help you manage your studies without burning a hole in your pockets!

International students that are searching for an ideal place to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, should give Singapore a serious thought. Nicknamed “the Lion City”, Singapore is known for its business world as one of the freest, most innovative, and most competitive ones, making this city own a leading position in terms of successful global affairs.

What makes Singapore such a popular study destination, including for prospective MBA students, is a combination of world-class education, a large number of scholarship opportunities, high employability rate after graduation and the multicultural environment.

Singapore has a worldwide reputation in terms of high standard education, research opportunities and innovative teaching and learning.

According to a UNESCO report, more than 50,000 international students arrive in Singapore each year and it was rated the 6th best student city in the world by QS World University Rankings. Due to a melting-pot society, international students don’t have any problem with adjusting to the bustling Singapore. Here are other good reasons that make this city a place worth considering for a degree abroad.

Study programmes offered by universities and business schools from Singapore cover a mix of team work, interactive class discussions, and a focus on acquiring critical thinking and problem-solving skills. MBA degrees integrate a strong alignment of curriculum, assessment, instruction and practical experience.

Most business administration courses have a core module, enabling students to attain key concepts of a general management education. The curriculum then advances to more complex topics, meant to teach students how to succeed in the global business environment.
