The story of our university began with its founding in September of 1857, when the first students arrived to study at its predecessor, Assumption College. In the more than 150 years that have since passed, the small, liberal arts college has grown into today's non-denominational, comprehensive, teaching and learning university. Nearly 15,000 students attend the University of Windsor today and its alumni family is more than 100,000 strong. Here are some highlights that have marked our century and a half of academic achievement and excellence.

This website is designed to provide the resources necessary for the UWindsor community to learn more about, as well as to support and strengthen our proud identity. The story does not end here— it is a continuing narrative about what makes this institution special, and it builds on the sense of pride that process engenders.
The recognition and perception of a brand is highly influenced by its visual presentation. A brand’s visual identity is the overall look of its communications. Effective visual brand identity is achieved by the consistent use of particular visual elements to create distinction, such as specific fonts, colors, and graphic elements. The best brand identity systems are executed with consistency and adherence to graphic standards like those described on this website.
